What:  (Protein’s Effect on Your Metabolism):  A protein shake with each meal or snack.

Why:  Protein requires the greatest expenditure of energy to process as compared to carbohydrates and fat.

Expected Result:  Speeding up of my metabolism, burning consistently more calories, therefore, slow and steady weight loss.

Bad habits are like chains that are too light to feel until they are too heavy to carry.

What:  (Trick for Lowered Cholesterol):  One Alli pill at each meal that contains more than a few grams of fat.

Why:  Alli blocks some dietary fat, causing it to pass from the body undigested.  One Alli can reduce the number of calories digested at every meal.

Expected Result:  Consistently fewer calories leads to a slightly changed balance of energy input to energy burned.  The changed balance could potentially lead to slow and steady weight loss.  Fewer grams of fat digested mimics fewer grams of fat consumed, therefore, improvement in serum lipid values.
